Decedent Identified in Homicide 800 block of 18th Street Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 800 block of 18th Street, Northeast.  On Sunday, August 2, 2015, at approximately 5:32 am, members of the Fifth District responded to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital where all life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 34 year-old William Burke, Jr. of Northeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
