Death Investigation: 1500 Block of M Street, SE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a death which occurred in the 1500 block of M Street, SE.

On August 10, 2013, an unidentified body was pulled from the Anacostia River in the 1500 block of M Street, SE. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy was performed.

The decedent has been determined to be a black male, 5’3” in height, 122 pounds, in his mid to late 20’s. He has a tattoo of a “W” in black ink, a “D” in black ink, and a pair of dice in black ink, surrounded by what appears to be flames, also in black ink. These tattoos are on his left forearm. He also has two teardrops tattooed under his left eye (not pictured).

The investigation is ongoing.
