At approximately 2:18 on the morning of Sunday, July 9, 2006, police were called to the front of 3124 Q Street, NW, with a report of a stabbing and robbery. Upon arrival they located 27-year-old Alan Senitt, of London, England, suffering from apparent knife wounds. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, but found no signs consistent with life. Mr. Senitt was taken to the office of the DC Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.
The investigation indicated that Mr. Senitt and a female companion were walking in the 3100 block of Q Street, NW, when they were approached by three males, one armed with a knife and one with a handgun, who demanded money and property. It was at this time that one of the suspects allegedly attempted to sexually assault the female companion and Mr. Senitt received his injuries before the suspects fled. A subsequent investigation initiated by Second District detectives led to the apprehension of two suspects at approximately 5:30 that morning in the 2700 block of Robinson Place, SE. At approximately 1 pm, two suspects surrendered themselves to police at the Violent Crimes Branch, located at 3244 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE.
25-year-old Christopher Piper of the 2700 block of Robinson Place, SE was arrested and charged with Felony Murder While Armed and Assault With Intent To Commit First Degree Sexual Assault While Armed.
Also arrested were: 22-year-old Jeffery Rice of the 2700 block of Robinson Place, SE, 26-year-old Olivia Miles of the unit block of Crittenden Street, NE, and a 15-year-old District male juvenile. All three were charged with Felony Murder While Armed. They are expected to be arraigned today.
