Arrest Made in Rosa May Fludd-Ross Murder Case

A 52-year-old man has been charged with murder.

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the homicide of Rosa May Fludd-Ross, who was found murdered in her home on Sunday, November 15, 2009.  On Monday, November 16, 2009, at 12:30 pm, 52-year-old Kenneth Lee Ross, the victim’s husband, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder While Armed in connection with the death of his wife.  Mr. Ross was placed under arrest at the Homicide Branch after being interviewed by the investigating detectives.  He is also being charged with Assault With Intent to Kill for assaulting the second victim in this case.

On Sunday, November 15, 2009, at approximately 7:04 am, officers assigned to the Fifth District responded to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>3901 35th Street, NE to check on the welfare of a resident.  Upon their arrival, they located two adults, one unconscious and suffering from apparent blunt force trauma injuries, and the other suffering from other injuries.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department personnel also responded to the scene, but could find no life signs in the victim suffering from apparent blunt force trauma, identified as 55-year-old Rosa May Fludd-Ross of the 35th Street address.


The second victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and admitted in critical condition. This victim’s identity is being withheld due to witness status.
