Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced today that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of Damon Tolson, which occurred on October 20, 2009 in the 4800 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>G Street, SE. On the morning of Friday, March 19, 2010, 21-year-old Christopher Antwon Edge of Silver Spring, Maryland was arrested and charged with First Degree Felony Murder While Armed in connection with the death of Mr. Tolson pursuant to an arrest warrant. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
On Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at approximately 2:40 am, Sixth District police officers responded to the 4800 block of Benning Road SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male in an unconscious state suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body lying in the 4800 block of G Street, SE.
The victim, who was identified as 30-year-old Damon Tolson, of the 5100 block of Fitch Street, SE, was later pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.
