Arrest Made in November 2004 Homicide on L Street, NE

On Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at about 10:30 am, construction personnel working in the vicinity summoned police and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel to the 800 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>L Street, NE, to investigate the report of an unconscious person.  Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female suffering from apparent trauma injuries to the neck. She was partially concealed under a structure in the rear of 821 L Street, NE.  Emergency medical personnel could find no life signs.

The victim, identified as 37-year-old Monica Mullins, of the 700 block of Florida Avenue, NE, was transported by morgue wagon to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where she was officially pronounced dead. Her death was subsequently ruled a homicide, the result of a stabbing.


On May 1, 2006, the murder of Ms. Mullins was closed with the arrest of 45-year-old Gregory Jackson, of the 1700 block of Trinidad Avenue, NE. He has been charged with Murder I While Armed.
