Arrest Made in the Homicide of Jonathan Estep

A 22-year-old man has been arrested.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of Jonathan Estep that occurred at 11th and <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>Columbia Road, NW, on July 10, 2010.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>


On Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 8:31 pm, units from the Third District responded to 11th and Columbia Road, NW, for the report of a shooting.  Upon their arrival, they located the victim in the 3000 block of 11th Street, NW, suffering from gunshot wounds.  Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Service responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.


On Thursday, July 29, 2010, at 11:05 am, members of the Capital Area Fugitive Task Force arrested 22-year-old Joseph McCrae and charged him with First Degree Murder while armed.
