Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, January 6, 2017, in the 3100 Block of Buena Vista Terrace, Southeast.
At approximately 7:01 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult male victims, inside of a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Services responded and transported both victims to local hospitals for treatment. The first victim sustained life threatening injuries. The second victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.
On Friday, March 16, 2018, while being treated at a local hospital, the first victim was pronounced dead.
On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be complications from gunshot wounds and ruled the manner of death a Homicide.
The decedent has been identified as 26-year-old Carl Gray, of Southeast, DC.
On June 27, 2018, 25 year-old Javonte Alhajie Brown, of Suitland, MD, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
