Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in a fatal shooting that occurred in the 2900 block of 14th Street, Northwest on Tuesday, June 14, 2016.

At approximately 6:30 am, members of the Third District responded to reports of a shooting inside the listed location.  Upon arrival on the scene, members located an adult male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound.  DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and determined that there were no signs consistent with life.

The decedent was identified as 20-year-old Devonte Crawford of Northwest, DC.

On Wednesday, June 29, 2016, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male of Northeast, DC, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Murder Two while Armed.
