Arrest Made in a Homicide: 2200 Block of Hunter Place, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred in the 2200 block of Hunter Place, Southeast, on Friday, October 27, 2017.


At approximately 12:05 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. All life-saving efforts failed and the victim was pronounced dead.


The decedent has been identified as 22 year-old Ernest Edward Baylor, Jr., of Southeast, DC


On Monday, November 13, 2017, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Seventh District Crime Suppression Team arrested 28-year-old Talib Clay, of Southeast, DC. Clay is charged with First Degree Murder While Armed (Premeditated).
