Arrest Made in a Carjacking and an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 6000 Block of 13th Place, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District have announced an arrest has been made in a Carjacking and an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Thursday, August 10, 2017, in the 6000 Block of 13th Place, Northwest.


At approximately 7:18 pm, the victim was sitting in her vehicle when two suspects approached and opened the car door in an attempt to remove the victim from the vehicle. The victim was able to maintain possession of her vehicle and drive to safety. Two witnesses observed the suspects in the area and attempted to stop them. One of the suspects brandished a knife and attempted to stab one of the witnesses. One of the suspects was apprehended by responding officers. The other suspect fled the scene.


On Thursday, August 10, 2017, a 13-year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for Carjacking and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
