Arrest Made in Assault with Intent to Kill: 1600 Block of K Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District Detective Unit have announced that an arrest has been made in the assault with intent to kill which occurred in the 1600 block of K Street, Northeast.

On Friday, July 4, 2014, at approximately 7:30 pm, police officers from the Fifth District responded to a call for a shooting in the 1600 block of K Street, Northeast.  Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital.

On Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at approximately 6:00 am, 25 year-old Kevin Jackson of Hyattsville, Maryland, was arrested in Hyattsville, Maryland by detectives of the Fifth District with the assistance of Prince George’s County Police Criminal Investigation Division and Special Response Team, pursuant to a District of Columbia Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Assault with Intent to Kill. Mr. Jackson also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear from Maryland and is currently being held pending extradition proceedings.
