The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that two alleged armed robbery suspects were quickly apprehended.

Shortly before 9 pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, a man reported to Second District police that he had been robbed of cash and personal belongings at gunpoint by two suspects while in the 3500 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>36th Street, NW. The suspects then fled in the victim’s car.
A lookout for the stolen vehicle and the suspects was broadcast. Shortly thereafter, First District police spotted the stolen vehicle and with the assistance of Sixth District police, they stopped the vehicle in the vicinity of Minnesota Avenue and Benning Road, NE. The two armed robbery suspects were arrested without incident. At that time, a BB gun was recovered.
The suspects in this case, 20-year-old Charles Walker of the 1500 block of 55th Street NE, and a juvenile male, are currently facing several charges in connection with this case.
