Additional Arrest Made in 2007 Homicide: 5200 Block of Clay Street, NE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an additional arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 5200 block of Clay Street, NE.

On Saturday, June 2, 2007, at approximately 8:46 pm, units from the Sixth District responded to the rear of 5200 block of Clay Street, NE, for the report of an unconscious person.  Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshots.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel determined that he showed no signs consistent with life.  The decedent was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy was performed. The decedent’s death was ruled a homicide. 

The decedent is identified as 20-year-old Terrance Fowler of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

On Wednesday, August 14, 2013, an adult male was arrested and charged in connection with the death of Terrance Fowler. 

On Friday, June 20, 2014, at approximately 11:30 am, 24-year-old Maurice Pope of Northeast, Washington, DC, was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and was charged with First Degree Murder While Armed in connection with the death of Terrance Fowler.
