On Friday, July 24, 2009, at approximately 10:40 pm, Thomas Short was shot while in the 1100 block of Howard Road, SE. On July 26, 2009, Mr. Short succumbed to his injuries.
On Thursday, July 23, 2009, at 2:11 am, Maurice Antonio Smith (AKA “Mo”) was shot and killed in the rear of 1222 Eaton Road, SE. The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in gathering information
regarding this incident.
On Monday, July 20, 2009, at approximately 10:40 pm, Clarence Lawrence Dews was robbed and assaulted in front of 2747 Martin Luther King Jr Avenue, SE. On July 25, 2009, Mr. Dews died as a result of the assault.
