Investigative Services Bureau - Central Auto Theft Section

Introduction:  The Superintendent of Detectives Division, Central Auto Theft Section provides subject matter experts on auto theft issues, agency representation to the Washington Counsel of Governments, MD & DC Act Committee, DELMARVA Auto Theft, and National Insurance Crime Bureau.

Location: 300 Indiana Avenue NW, Suite 3150, Washington DC 20001

Schedule:  The office is open Monday through Friday; 8:30 A.M. through 5:00 P.M. Flexible hours are available.

Number of Citizen Volunteer Positions: None

Number of Intern Positions: One

Program Description: The Intern will conduct Internet, documentary, and other types of research for data and information; after training will conduct document research of applications for “special title” applications submitted from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Conduct initial screening of incoming telephone inquires to determine the unit or agency best suited to handle the inquiry. The Intern may also participate in “vehicle inspections” to determine the eligibility for the assignment of special vehicle identification numbers.
