Executive Office of the Chief of Police - Research & Analysis Division

Introduction: The Research and Analysis Division (RAD) is a civilian unit reporting through the Executive Office of the Chief of Police. The RAD is responsible for providing preliminary crime data, arrest data, calls-for-service data to both the public and other Divisions within MPD, conducting program evaluations, gathering benchmarking statistics, and conducting other operational support research projects including mapping of crime statistics.

Location: 300 Indiana Avenue NW, Suite 5126, Washington, DC 20001

Schedule: The office is open Monday through Friday; 8:00 A.M. through 5:00 P.M. Flexible hours are available.

Number of Citizen Volunteer Positions: One

Number of Intern Positions: One

Program Description: Duties within this position may vary depending on the demands of the Chief’s office. Current projects available include case review for data extraction and logging for a homicide study, data cleaning for a recidivism study, data entry for a sex abuse study, weekly and monthly report generation, and some sorting, copying and filing.
