Halloween Safe Haven Events 2020

This year, MPD is celebrating Halloween with safe, socially distant events in every district in the city! Want to join in on the fun? Then take a look at the events below to find out what's happening in your police district:

MPD Safe Haven Events (PDF)

  • First District: 1D Station Trunk and Treat
    1D will host a trunk and treat where we will invite other law enforcement agencies to participate with their decorated vehicles to distribute candy. Social distancing will be enforced.

  • Second District: MPD Second District’s Spooktacular Drive-Thru Halloween Event
    2D Outreach will host an event where families will remain in their vehicles, and drive up to receive treats (distributed by officers and outreach team).

  • Third District: MPD Third District Trunk or Treat
    Members of the community will be able to come and trunk or treat from MPD vehicles that will be filled with candy and treats.

  • Fourth District: 4D Virtual Scary Story Writing/Reading Contest
    4D Outreach will solicit stories from community youth ages 10 - 15 to be read in a virtual contest. We will also have a pumpkin carving/decorating contest for youth ages 5 to 9. First Place, Second Place and Third Place Prizes will be given to the scariest and most creative stories and pumpkins. Prizes will be delivered by an uniformed officer on Halloween night.

  • Fifth District: Fifth District Safe Haven/ PSA Trunk and Treat
    5D Outreach will decorate the front of the district station and distribute candy. Social distancing will be enforced. Also, each PSA will have a decorated vehicle in a designated location to hand out candy.

  • Sixth District: Halloween Safe Zone
    6D Outreach with partner ERFSC will give out candy and PPE along with safety and resource information packets. Social distancing with be enforced.

  • Seventh District: "Roving" 7D Trunk and Treat
    7D Outreach will host a roving Trunk and Treat to pass out candy and treats through the areas of Woodland, Langston, Savannah, Cedar, Congress Heights and Wheeler Road.
