Homicide at Congress Heights Metro Station

Police are investigating a fatal stabbing.

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal stabbing which occurred at Congress Heights Metro Station located at <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>1290 Alabama Avenue,  SE.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>


On Sunday, May 30, 2010, at approximately 2:50 am, units from the Seventh District received a radiorun to respond to Congress Heights Metro Station located at 1290 Alabama, Avenue SE. Upon their arrival, they located the decedent inside the Metro Station. The victim was unconscious and unresponsive and suffering from stab wounds.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. At 3:25 am, the victim was subsequently pronounced dead.


Another stabbing victim was also located in the Metro Station and transported to an area hospital. That victim was treated and released. A third subject was transported to an area hospital for a medical evaluation.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
