Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 1300 block of Saratoga Avenue, NE.             

On Wednesday, February 15, 2011, at approximately 5:00 pm, units from the Fifth District responded to the 1300 block of Saratoga Avenue, NE, for the report of a shooting.  Upon their arrival, they located the victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. The victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.    The decedent has been identified as 21 year-old Lewis Rashad Dixon of Northeast, Washington, DC.  

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
