Arrest Made in July Double Homicide on 3rd Street, SW

An 18-year-old Northeast man has been charged with two counts of murder in the July 2 incident.

At approximately 4:33 am, on Sunday, July 2, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to the front of an address in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>1000 block of 3rd Street, SW, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival they located 20-year-old David Young Holt, of the 2400 block of Pomeroy Road, SE, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body.  He was taken to the WashingtonHospitalCenter’s MedSTAR Unit and pronounced dead. 

 

Police also located a 25-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body and arm in the 200 block of Eye (I) Street, SW, and a 16-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body in the 1000 block of Delaware Avenue, SW.  Both victims were taken to an area hospital.  The 25-year-old male was admitted in stable condition and the 16-year-male was admitted in serious condition.  On Saturday, July 8, 2006, 16-year-old Michael Lucas, of the Unit Block of P Street, SW, died as a result of his injuries.

 

The above case was closed on Tuesday, October 3, 2006, with the arrest of 18-year-old Nathaniel Eric Waldron, of the 200 block of 57th Street, NE. He was charged with two counts of First Degree Murder While Armed.
