On Tuesday, January 5, 2005, at approximately 1:00 am, Zachary M. Jackson was shot while driving his vehicle on the 11th Street Bridge, SE. He died from complications on February 23, 2005.
In 2004, even as total homicides decreased 20% and overall violent crime almost 14% in the District of Columbia, juvenile homicides climbed sharply. Twenty-four youth (age 17 and younger) were killed in the District last year, compared to 13 in 2003 and 17 in 2002.
At approximately 5:55 pm, Friday, December 31, 2004, police were called to the parking lot of the Giant Food Store, located at 1050 Brentwood Road, NE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival they located 41-year-old Jade Hodge, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the head.
At approximately 2:05 this morning, Tuesday, December 28, 2004, police were called to the 1400 block of Smith Place, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival they located 18-year-old Jaavon Smith, of the 1400 block of Savannah Street, SE, suffering from gunshot wounds to the body.
On December 23, 2004, at approximately 5:30 am, Randolph Moses was shot and killed at 3035 Massachusetts Avenue, SE. The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in gathering information regarding this incident.
On Thursday, December 23, 2004, at approximately 8:16 pm, Andre Dean Knuckles was shot to death at the intersection of 13th Street and Congress Street, SE. The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in gathering information regarding this incident.
On Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at approximately 8:00 am, Troy Hill was shot to death in front of 4425 A Street, SE. The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in gathering information regarding this incident.
On December 7, 2004, at approximately 11:42 am, Edgar Ralph White was shot and killed in front of 2420 Skyland Place, SE, in the driver’s seat of a white Toyota Camry.
On Tuesday, December 7, 2004, Darryl Lee Jefferson was found in front of 1924 17th Street, SE. He died as a result of blunt force impact trauma. The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in gathering information regarding this incident.
