Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department have announced that the undetermined death, which occurred in the 2300 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest has been, ruled a homicide.
On Saturday, June 21, 2014 at approximately 1:49 am, Second District officers responded to the report of an assault in the 2300 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male lying on the ground. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was admitted for treatment. On Wednesday, July 2, 2014, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 57 year-old Michael Hrizuk of Arlington, Virginia.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined the cause to be blunt impact head injury and the manner of death is homicide.
The investigation is continuing.
