Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Unit are investigating a traffic fatality which occurred at the intersection of 23rd Street and Constitution Avenue, NW.
On Friday, May 24, 2013 at approximately 11:01 pm, a Chrysler Sebring was travelling southbound on 23rd Street, NW while a 2003 three-wheel Harley-Davidson motorcycle was travelling northbound on 23rd Street, NW. The operator of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was turning westbound onto Constitution Avenue, NW when he was struck by the Chrysler Sebring.
The motorcyclist was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 66-year-old George Hillis of North Lake Village, Indiana.
