At approximately 3:56 am, on Sunday, February 5, 2006, police were called to the 2100 block of Suitland Parkway, SE, for the report of two pedestrians struck. Upon arrival police located 26-year-old Curtis Turner Jr., of the 5600 block of 54th Avenue in Riverdale, Maryland, and 28-year-old Adrian Simmons, of the 4300 block of 4th Street, SE. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and found no signs of life for Mr. Turner.

Mr. Turner was transported to the DC Medical Examiner's Office and pronounced dead and Mr. Simmons was transported to the Howard University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:45 am.
At this time it appears that both subjects were attempting to cross the roadway in the southbound lane of Suitland Parkway when an unidentified vehicle traveling eastbound on Suitland Parkway reportedly struck both victims.
At this time there is no lookout for the vehicle involved in the above fatality. The vehicle should have right front-end damage and a broken right side-view mirror.
The case is under investigation by members of the department's Major Crash Investigation Unit.
