Mr. Makkar allegedly utilized the Internet to make contact with what he believed to be a 13-year-old female and reportedly made arrangements to meet her. When he arrived at the agreed-upon location, he was met by officers who placed him under arrest. He was arraigned today in United States District Court.
Members of the ICAC unit will enter into "chat room" conversations in an attempt to intercept those attempting to entice underage females and males in an effort to combat the growing problem of Internet predators.
