Street Closures for Multiple Weekend Events

The Metropolitan Police Department and the DC Department of Transportation would like to inform the public of street closings in conjunction with multiple events that are scheduled to be held this weekend.

Taste of Georgetown

On Saturday, June 1, 2013, The Taste of Georgetown is scheduled to begin at approximately 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Beginning at approximately 12:00 am on Saturday, June 1, 2013 to 9:00 pm the following streets will be affected by street closures: 

  • 1000 block of Wisconsin Avenue, NW between M and K Streets, NW

Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk

On Saturday, June 1, 2013, the following streets will be closed from Saturday, June 1st at 11:00 am until Sunday, June 2nd at 7:00 am:

  • H Street, NW from 20th Street, NW to 22nd Street, NW
  • 21st Street, NW from G Street, NW to H Street, NW

Post Hunt

On Sunday, June 2, 2013, The Post Hunt is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:00 am until 4:30 pm

The following streets will be closed from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2013

  • Pennsylvania Avenue from 13th Street to 14th Street, NW

Ford’s Theater Annual Gala

On Sunday, June 2, 2013, the following streets will be closed from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm:

  • 10th Street, NW, between E and F Streets, NW

Motorists traveling in the area of these events may experience delays and should consider alternative routes, if possible. The Metropolitan Police Department and the DC Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to pay full attention whenever operating any motor vehicle and to be mindful of heavy pedestrian traffic that may be associated with these special events. In addition, those wishing to attend these events are encouraged to use public transportation.
