Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 600 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>46th Place, SE. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
On Sunday, May 30, 2010, at 10:25 pm, Sixth District units were dispatched to investigate the sounds of gunshots in the 600 block of 46th Place SE. Officers responded to the scene and found a male victim unconscious lying on the concrete. The victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local areaHospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
On Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 4:55 pm the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The victim in this case has been identified as 32-year-old Antoine Buckner of the 600 block 46th Place, SE, Washington, DC.
