Second Arrest Made in the Homicide of Calvin Godsey

A second suspect has been arrested in a June 17, 2010 homicide.

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced a second arrest has been made in the homicide of Calvin Godsey, who was fatally shot in the 2100 Block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?><?xml:namespace prefix = u1 /?>3rd Street, NE, Washington, DC.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

 

On Thursday, June 17, 2010, at approximately 1:00 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the 2100 Block of 3rd Street, NE, to investigate the report of a shooting.  Upon their arrival, they found an unconscious subject suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

 

The decedent was identified as 38-year-old Calvin Godsey of the 2100 Block of 3rd Street, NE, Washington, DC.

 

On Friday, June 18, 2010, an adult male suspect was arrested in this case. Subsequently on Friday, June 25, 2010 at approximately 3 pm members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 36-year-old Leon Truesdale pursuant to an arrest warrant charging him with Felony Murder While Armed.
