Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that a March 2010 stabbing victim has died and that the case is now being investigated as a homicide. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at approximately 1:08 am, officers from the Seventh District were called to the unit block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>Forrester Street, SW, to investigate the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male inside of an apartment at that location suffering from apparent multiple stab wounds. The victim, who has been identified as 33-year-old Michael Bailey of no fixed address, was transported to an area hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
On Saturday, April 3, 2010, Mr. Bailey who had remained hospitalized, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 12:37 pm.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

If the information provided by a caller to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
