Man Dies Inside Electric Substation in Northwest

At approximately 2:05 am, on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel and Metropolitan Police were called to the rear of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>1620 L Street, NW.  Upon arrival they located a 31-year-old male in an unconscious condition inside of an electric substation.  Emergency medical personnel responded but could found no signs consistent with life.

The decedent, identified as 31-year-old Kiana Bell, of the 2000 block of O Street, NW, was subsequently transported to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and pronounced dead. It appears that the man may have been electrocuted; however, the exact cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office.
