Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting. The location of the shooting is presently under investigation.
On Saturday, July 13, 2013, at approximately 2:00 am, patrol officers from the Fourth District responded to a local hospital for a report of a gunshot victim. Upon their arrival, they located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim of this shooting, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The remains of the decedent have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia pending a determination of a cause and manner of death.
The decedent is identified as 18 year-old Anthony Sanchez of Northwest, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
