On Saturday, July 8, 2006, at approximately 3:43 am, police were called to the rear alley of 616 Emmanuel Court, NW, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival police located two men, both suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. One victim identified as 44-year-old Chris Crowder, of the 1300 block of 7th Street, NW, was found suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit and pronounced dead. Also located was an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. He was transported to and area hospital and admitted in critical condition.
His identity is being withheld because he is considered a witness in this case.
The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or person responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
