Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>Bellevue Street, SE. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
At approximately 5:34 pm on Thursday, December 31, 2009, members from the Seventh District responded to the 900 block of Bellevue Street, SE, to investigate the possible report of an assault at that location. Upon arrival, they discovered an unidentified adult male at that location suffering from apparent multiple stab wounds. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the scene, but were unable to find any signs consistent with life.
The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
