At approximately 2:23 am, on Thursday, January 12, 2006, Seventh District officers on neighborhood patrol came upon a van that had struck another vehicle in front of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>845 Barnaby Street, SE. Upon further investigation, an unidentified adult black male was discovered in the driver's seat of the van, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was subsequently transported to the WashingtonHospitalCenter's MedStar Unit,where he was pronounced dead at 5:10 am.
The case is under investigation by members of the Metropolitan Police Department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
