Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 700 block of Brandywine Street, SE.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
On Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at approximately 9:00 pm, units from the Seventh District responded to the 700 block of Brandywine Street, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, they located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old James Pone of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
