Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 4100 block of Gault Place, Northeast.
On Friday, June 27, 2014, at approximately 8:35 pm, police officers from the Sixth District responded to a call for service for the report of an unconscious person in the 4100 block of Gault Place, Northeast. Upon arrival, they located an adult female unconscious and unresponsive inside a home. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived on the scene and found no signs consistent with life. The decedent has been subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia where an autopsy will be performed to ascertain the cause and manner of death.
On Sunday, June, 29, 2014, an autopsy was performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia on the remains of the decedent. The cause of death has been determined to be asphyxia by compression. The manner was ruled a homicide.
The decedent has been positively identified as 64-year-old Barbara Moore of Northeast, Washington, DC.
