Homicide on 35th Street, NE

A 55-year-old woman died of apparent blunt force trauma injuires.

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide committed inside of a residence located in the 3900 block of <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = U1 /?><?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>35th Street NE on November 15, 2009.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

On Sunday, November 15, 2009, at approximately 7:04 am, officers assigned to the Fifth District responded to 3901 35th Street, NE to check on the welfare of a resident.  Upon their arrival, they located two adults, one unconscious and suffering from apparent blunt force trauma injuries, and the other suffering from other injuries.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department personnel also responded to the scene, but could find no life signs in the victim suffering from apparent blunt force trauma. The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Rosa May Fludd-Ross of the 35th Street address.

The second victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and admitted in critical condition. This victim’s identity is being withheld due to witness status.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
