The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a homicide which occurred in the 3400 block of 22nd Street, SE.
At approximately 3 am on Saturday, August 30, 2008, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 3400 block of 22nd Street, SE, to investigate the possible sounds of gunshots at that location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unidentified adult male in that block suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. DCFD emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life. The subject was pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.
The identity of the victim in this case is being withheld pending positive identification and the notification of the next-of-kin.
