At approximately 2:30 am on Monday, February 20, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to the 300 block of W Street, NW, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located 45-year-old Gregory Washington, of the 200 block of K Street, NW, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
