At approximately 6:38 pm, on Sunday, June 11, 2006, police were called to a private residence located at 2905 30th Street, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located 28-year-old Samuel King, of the 1500 block of S Street, SE, on the porch of the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. He was subsequently transported to the George Washington University Hospital and pronounced dead at 8:27 pm.
The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
