Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that resulted from a shooting that occurred in the 1800 block of Benning Road, Northeast, on Friday, February 19, 2016.
At approximately 9:42 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to a call for a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 21-year-old Dante Kinard, of Northeast, D.C.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
