At approximately 11:55 last night, Thursday, December 8, 2005, 23-year-old Terry Smith, of the 7900 block of Orchard Parkway in Bowie, Maryland, was stabbed in the body during an apparent altercation while inside the Ascot Club located at 1708 L Street, NW. He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center's MedStar Unit and pronounced dead at 2:13 am on Friday, December 9, 2005.

The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
