Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 1500 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>Kenilworth Ave., NE.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
On Sunday, June 27, 2010 at approximately 11:01 am, officers of the Sixth District responded to the 1500 block of Kenilworth Avenue, NE to investigate the report of a shooting. While canvassing the area, the victim was located inside of a vehicle in the 1300 block of Kenilworth Avenue, NE., where he was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 46 year-old Charles Logan of Hyattsville, Maryland.
