Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are currently investigating a homicide which occurred in the 1400 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>18th Street, SE.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
At approximately 4:19 am on Friday, October 2, 2009, officers from the Sixth District responded to the area of 18th and P Streets, SE, to investigate the report of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in the 1400 block of 18th Street, SE, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the scene, but were unable to find any signs consistent with life. The victim, who has been identified as 18-year-old Eddie Raphael Blocker of the 800 block of Kenilworth Avenue, NE, was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

If the information provided by a caller to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
