Homicide at 14 S Street, NE - UPDATE: Suspect Arrested

At approximately 5:15 am, on Monday, August 1, 2005, Metropolitan Police were called to an apartment building, located at 14 S Street, NE, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival they located 37-year-old Rowena Ward-Bachelor, of the S Street address, in the main hallway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  She was taken to the Washington Hospital Center and pronounced dead.

On Tuesday, August 2, 2005, this case was closed with the arrest of 21-year-old Eric F. Hickman, of the 300 block of 54th Street, NE.  He was charged with Murder II While Armed.
