Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 1300 block of Half Street, SW.
On December 8, 2010, at approximately 8:30 am units from the First District responded to the 1300 block of Half Street, SW to investigate the call for a man down. Upon their arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and did not find any signs of life. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Scott Staten of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
