Homicide in the 100 Block of 53rd Street, SE, Washington, DC

A 26-year-old man was fatally shot.

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 100 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>53rd St., SE. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

 

On Sunday, May 30, 2010, at 4:35 am, units from the Sixth District received a radio run to respond to the 100 block of 53rd Street, SE, for a subject shot. Upon their arrival, Officers located the victim inside of the location. He was unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded and found no signs of life. The decedent’s remains have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy.

 

The victim in this case has been identified as 26 year old Edward Pope of the 100 block of 53rd St., SE, Washington, DC

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
