Members of the Arson Task Force are investigating a fire death that occurred in the 4600 block of 4th Street, NW.
On Thursday, February 13, 2014, at approximately 5:50 am, members of the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services received a call for the report of a house fire in the 4600 block of 4th Street, NW. Upon arrival, members located a three-story row house that was on fire. Upon extinguishing the fire, an adult female was discovered inside the residence. She remained on the scene and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, pending an autopsy.
The decedent has been identified as 80-year-old Lucille Proctor of Northwest, DC.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
