On Saturday, October 1, 2005, at approximately 8:40 am, officers from the First District were called to 13th and I Streets, NW, to investigate the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival officers located an unidentified adult black male suffering from an apparent stab wound to the chest at that location. The victim was subsequently transported to the George Washington University Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:36 am.
A preliminary investigation into this case reveals that the decedent may have been involved in an altercation with another male subject inside Franklin Park, which is located in the 1300 block of I Street, NW, when he was stabbed.
The name of the victim in this case is being withheld at this time pending positive identification.
This case remains under investigation by members from the department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact police at (202) 727-9099.
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
The victim is now identified as 30-year-old Trevor Williams of no fixed address. The above case was closed yesterday, October 4, 2005, with the arrest of 41-year-old Antonio Linder of no fixed address. He was charged with Murder Two while Armed.
